REDDY HAILS DIVISIONAL COMMISSIONERS
Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Mahendra Reddy has commended the tremendous service of three divisional commissioners who are retiring this year. Commissioner for the Eastern Division, Luke Moroivalu, Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea, and Commissioner Western Joji Satakala, were honoured in a farewell luncheon in Suva, yesterday. Mr Reddy thanked the three commissioners for their dedicated service rendered to all Fijian and the Government.
“You have served at all levels of the civil service and dedicated a great part of your life to serving government…a commitment level like that is no match for any of us here,” Mr Reddy said.
The minister spoke highly each divisional commissioner.
Luke Moroivalu – East

“Your commitment to changing livelihoods for rural communities towards encouraging economic independence better standards of living, community solidarity and the nurturing of resilient and selfreliant individuals has been at the forefront of your career,” Mr Reddy said.
“You leave behind a legacy that would be hard to match for the future commissioners through your successful implementation of the Rural Millionaire Programme within the Eastern Division and its ripple effect to the rest of the divisions.”
Mr Moroivalu has been in the service for the past 36 years.
Jovesa Vocea – North
Mr Reddy said the Commissioner Northern was instrumental in the planning and implementation of many projects for the Northern Division.
Mr Vocea has been in the service for the past 37 years.
Joji Satakala – West
Mr Satakala has been serving in his role for 30 years and has shown a strong persona, depicting the leadership skills shown to his staff. Mr Reddy said: “Mr Satakala was re-engaged twice, first as the divisional planning officer and the acting commissioner for the Western Division.
“This was because the division had greatly relied on his seasoned experience in the operations especially in the planning processes, project implementations and disaster management operations.” Meanwhile, acting as Commissioner Eastern is Inoke Tuiwainunu, for Commissioner Northern is Uraia Rainima, and Jone Bacau is for Commissioner Western Division.
