Captain Singh is a Proud Fijian
Fiji Airways senior pilot Captain Satpreet Singh said every Fijian should be proud of the two new Airbus A350 -900 XWB aircraft as they were the most modern planes in the world.
Captain Singh, 48, was one of three pilots who flew the aircraft from Toulouse, France, to Fiji and said he was one of the proudest Fijians today.

“It is the most modern jetliner in the world today and this is one of the greatest achievements, especially for a small nation like Fiji to acquire these modern aircraft.
“Every citizen should be proud of this as we are well into the game now with the big brothers,” Captain Singh said.
Of the 32 years he has spent flying, 22 years were dedicated to Fiji Airways and of all the aircraft he had commanded, nothing compared to the A350s.
“This aircraft’s innovation comes with the most modern of designs.
“Human factors have been taken into consideration for us sitting in the flight deck.
“The gap between humans and machines for those flying the aircraft have been narrowed significantly, because of all the information available to us which is available in a very complicated machine but comes to us in a very simple way.”
Captain Singh said it was surreal for pilots to see advancing technology associated with aviation.
“This aircraft is a few levels up – it is amazing what Airbus has produced.
“I am so honoured to be flying with this company.”
Flying career
Captain Singh started his flying training straight out of school. A year later, he was a co-pilot on the Twin Otter at Fiji Air in 1990.
“I never dreamt, even when flying the A330, I would one day fly this A350, the most modern aircraft.
“We did not know we would be acquiring the most modern jet in the -world and this is the vision direction of the Government and the leadership here at Fiji Airways to bring us to this level.
“My pride cannot be measured – I cannot describe it,” Captain Singh said.
