Tourism Fiji Hosts Bulanaire Sessionwith Partrners

- MARAIA VULA

Ateam from Tourism Fiji will meet with the Suncoast Tourism Association members and stakeholders today to talk about its signature campaign for 2020.

The Rakiraki tourism stakeholders meeting will be held at Volivoli Beach Resort at 2pm.

Suncoast Tourism Association Secretary Simon Doughty said it would be nice to have a Bulainares face from Suncoast.

“I’m sure we’ve got a lot of really really good candidates,” Mr Doughty said.

“But, you know, it would be great to get someone from the Suncoast in this programme.”

Later this week, a team will also be visiting industry partners at the Coral Coast, Denarau in Nadi, and Savusavu.

The team met with the Suva and Pacific Harbour earlier this week.

These Bulanaire information sessions ensure industry partners are well informed of the program and are supported in nominating their staff and frontliners for inclusion in the programme.

Tourism Fiji Niche Experiences manager, James Pridgeon was part of the team that hosted the Pacific Harbour and Suva information sessions. He said: “Our objective was to present to our industry what Phase Two of our Bulanaires campaign entailed.

“At the same time, we listened to ideas from our stakeholders and encouraged those who have not nominated their Bulanaires as well.”

Phase two of the campaign began in November last year and this year’s programme has been extended to Fiji’s tourism operators to nominate a member of their team to become a Bulanaire and participate directly in the campaign.

Tourism Fiji chief executive Matthew Stoeckel said: “Bulanaires is a programme that we know resounds across our markets. “Its message is about sharing happiness with others, which is more relevant than ever in our markets. “This campaign is a great opportunity for us to bring the ‘Bula Spirit’ to life and show the world why Fiji is where happiness finds you.”

“The Bulanaires will work with Tourism Fiji to help share the ‘Bula Spirit’ with the world and reinforce why Fiji is the place where happiness finds you.”

“Nominations are open to tourism partners and stakeholders and we encourage them to visit www.fiji. travel/bulanaires for more information.” Nominations are still open to tourism partners and stakeholders and we encourage them to visit www.fiji. travel/bulanaires for more information.

The inaugural Bulanaires list, launched on March 20, 2019, featured a small selection of local Fijians and international personalities who were rich in happiness.
