TIME MANAGEMENT
KEY FOR HEAD PREFECTS’ PROGRESS
Managing their time well will be priority for newlyinducted Ahmadiyya Muslim College head prefects.
For head boy Kelemedi Turaganikoro the struggles in life because of family problems have made him more determined to do well in his school work and the new role bestowed on him.
“I have not stayed with my parents for the past five years, I have never seen my father’s face till today,” he said.
His family situation has only allowed Kelemedi to became strongwilled as he fights life’s battles on his own.
“Staying with guardians is not that easy, because I have to go through a lot,” he said.
“I miss my parents every single day. Sometimes I cry, I want to talk to someone but no one is there to listen to my plea.”
The 13-year-old said his family situation had also given him the will to forge ahead and be more independent.
Despite the setbacks he confronts, Kelemedi feels renewed confidence after getting badged as the head boy. He will encourage students to always do the right thing and raise their voices when something is not right.
He thanked his aunt Muaula Gade and uncle Ilai Sigaca for always supporting him.
For head girl, Naomi Vaioa, being the first member in the family to be badged as a head prefect is extra motivation for her.
The 17-year-old was a school prefect last year.
“My role is to maintain discipline and work with members of the student council,” she said.
The duo said they would manage their new roles and academic work with proper time management.
The school has a roll of 354 students and 75 school prefects.
Temiva Pene was appointed as the deputy head girl while Aouze Areef Aqtar will serve as the deputy head boy for the school.
