XXIV COMMONWEAL­TH AUDITORS-GENERAL CONFERENCE

THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR-GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF FIJI

will host the XXIV Commonweal­th AuditorsGe­neral Conference from 26 to 28 May, 2020. The Conference will bring together Heads of Supreme Audit Institutio­ns and their delegates from across the fifty three Commonweal­th member countries, at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi. The previous conference, being the XXIII Conference, was held in New Delhi, India in 2017.

Bhawani Dayal Arya College heads believe in leading by example and by directing students in the right direction.

Head girl Vantika Prasad has dedicated her success to her father and to the school teachers.

She said that communicat­ion was a barrier for many students at their school, and she aims to be the bridge of communicat­ion between teachers and students.

“I will walk alongside with the school head boy and other members of the student council because the school is planning to have sports meet this year,” she said.

“Leadership is not a role or a position it’s a responsibi­lity that a person takes in order to empower the younger generation.”

The 18 year old thanked her father for supporting her and standing by her side.

“I live with my father and my brother, my parents are separated.”

She encouraged the students to work hard and make their loved ones proud.

Head boy Naisa Tagicaki who was a student of Nasinu Secondary School last year said he was honoured to be badged as the head boy this year. “My dream was to join this college since last year,” he said.

He said this year, he aims to be a role model to all the other students, especially, the student council members in the school.

A total of 98 students were inducted yesterday.
