Head Prefects Bank On Past Experiences
The newly inducted Tavua College head prefects will bank on their leadership experience over the past years at school to guide them in 2020.

This is actually my third year in leading the student council board. In Year 11, I was a senior prefect, last year I was the assistant head boy and this year I was promoted to be head boy so I will bank on my past years’ experiences.

Head boy Shanish Ashwin Kumar said he was well aware that leading 102 school prefects was a mammoth task, however he was confident of fulfilling his role. Mr Kumar said the 102 prefects would oversee 936 students.
“This is actually my third year in leading the student council board. In Year 11, I was a senior prefect, last year I was the assistant head boy and this year I was promoted to be head boy so I will bank on my past years’ experiences,” the 17-year-old said.
“Today also marks my mum’s birthday so it’s a double celebration.
“My parents are proud knowing I can balance my academic duties as well. It’s going to be a good year for us.”
Head girl Shivanjali Singh, 17, said it was a pleasure, leading students and holding the position was among her biggest achievements. “My parents are proud and I hope to fulfill my duties as expected by my principal and teachers,” she said.
“In Year 10 I was the form captain then I became senior prefect, assistant head girl and now the head girl.
“I can’t do this on my own, so that’s why I have the help of assistant head prefects, the head boy and of course help from teachers.” The deputy head prefects are Eka Naluvai and Praveet Chand, assistant head girls are Ashlini Kumar Sewak, Adi Kelera Racule and Laite Liku and assistant head boys are George Waisale Telawa, Vecueli Naivaga and Sahil Shayneel Prasad.
