Ality Naloma made her mother proud on Thursday when she was inducted as head girl of Nasinu Muslim Primary School.

The 13-year-old said it was a dream come true for her because her mother raised her single-handedly.

“My mother is everything to me and the only inspiration I have and I am glad she is here with me today (Thursday),” she said after the induction ceremony at the school.

Ality said her father was a soldier and she had never seen him.

“That did not make me sad or emotional because my mother gave me the love of a father too,” she said. She said her mother had always guided her and supported her throughout the journey.

Her mother is an Year 1 teacher at the school.

“My mother is an Year 1 teacher in this school and I was motivated to be badged only by her,” Ality said.

Head boy Hazarat Ali said he was ready to take the lead.

“It is a challenging journey for me, but I will never stop learning and leading,” he said.

He aims to work together with the teachers and students to improve the external results as well.

“I am feeling very proud today and it is really a nice experience being in a leadership role.” Hazarat said he had learnt a lot as a deputy head boy last year. Meanwhile, there are 880 students at the school and 112 of them were badged as prefects.

My mother is everything to me and the only inspiration I have and I am glad she is here with me today.
