ROUND 2 PREVIEW AND LATEST RESULTS
The level of competition at the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League competition has improved a lot, says a senior official.
Southern Zone president Naisa Cama told
SUNsports yesterday that competition has moved up a notch compared to last week. “We’re into the second round of competition and the players just keep on improving,” he said.
“Now the teams playing here have grasp the game very fast because they watch and learn from the NRL (National Rugby League) games on television every weekend and that helps them a lot.
“There is a big improvement in the pace of the game and we are expecting more improvement next week.”
Cama thanked the Fiji National Rugby
League (FNRL) development team for the work they are doing in the schools.
“The development team have been visiting all the schools by providing clinics and this is reflected in the games.
“Through their hard work we have Kalabu Secondary School joining the competition this week. Ratu Latianara College for the first time has come up to play with the big boys.”
