Let’s support our health care workers who are on the frontlines of the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The message is shared by Naveen Kumar, the former Fiji and Lautoka district footballer.

“Fijian athletes from every sport around the country need to come together to support the frontline health workers who have been putting countless hours in the fight against Corvid-19,” Naveen said. “These are our heroes.

“The many have hunkered down in hospitals, designated areas and care-homes to provide their unerring services, they deserve respect and all the support.”

Naveen who lives in Sacramento, California, said athletes in USA, professional and amateur show their support to frontline health workers and first responders at 7pm, the very time most countries in the world join to applause by honking, cheering from balconies and flashing lights.

He said what these frontline health workers do is above and beyond the call of duties.

“The many have made the hospitals and facilities home away from home, leaving their families and the loved ones behind in a concerted effort to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.

“Let’s us cheer the many doctors, nurses and the first responders and make them feel special, which they sure are”.

The former footballer says everyone needs to stay united and be resolute only then the world will overcome the Corvid-19.

Naveen urges people to adhere to restrictions and put in place by the authorities.

“We are all in it, USA is the epicentre,it’s worrying, we will get through this, but we must maintain physical distancing, sanitize and stay home”.
