Gateway Remains Open
Fiji Gateway Hotel remains open.
“The hotel is accommodating several guests who are stranded in Fiji and are continuing to look after them during this difficult period.
Raffe Hotels and Resorts group sales manager Lisa Costello said: “Fiji Gateway Hotel has offered heavily discounted rates to guests who need to be accommodated in Nadi long-term.” The Fiji Gateway Hotel is one of few hotels in Nadi to open with several guests still booked after travellers could not reach their ultimate destination.
Ms Costello said the resort remained open despite the suspension of all international and domestic flights.
Raffe Hotels and Resorts own three tourism destinations in Fiji.
Plantation Island Resort
Plantation Island Resort remains temporarily closed until May 31, 2020.
Plantation Island Resort faced difficult conditions during Tropical Cyclone Harold with high-speed winds, flooding and a storm surge. Ms Costello said the resort was spared serious damage and would be ready to welcome guests when the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic cleared.
Lomani Island Resort
Lomani Island Resort was clear of the path of Tropical Cyclone Harold.
Ms Costello said the resort is expected to complete redevelopment projects by August 31, 2020.
“This means that Lomani Island Resort will remain closed until August 31, 2020 and will be ready to welcome and delight guests with fabulous new facilities from September 1, 2020.
“All guest bookings between June 1, 2020, and August 31, 2020, will need to be amended or cancelled.”
