Victoria, NSW get an early taste of winter, snow falls
Melbourne: Temperatures have plummeted across Australia’s south-east with wet weather, wild wind and even snow.
Victorians are settling in for around five days of an early winter and yesterday had a forecast high of just 12C, with wind chill making it feel like 8C.
Sydney was windy and cold as well - with gusts of up to 45km an hour expected - and a maximum temperature of 17.
The cold front brought snow to alpine regions in both states on Thursday - and another 40 centimetres were expected to fall yesterday. Severe weather warnings are also in place for potentially damaging winds of up to 100km/h for coastal areas and the alpine region.
