Webmedia South Pacific launched a website for users to access all information related to coronavirus. Business development manager Nathan Powell said it took his 15-member team two months to build the site which, while better accessed on desktop, is being developed for mobile use.

Pacific Actions

The website is called Pacific Actions.

“It’s our initiative; something we’re giving back with the hope that it helps businesses and individuals gain some insight into coping mechanics given the constraints of coronavirus (COVID-19).”

The new site or news hub is a first for the Pacific and has gained over 1000 followers in the five days preceding its launch, Mr Powell said.

“It offers quality advice.”

He said the online platform was user friendly and provided up- to-date news of innovative ideas around the world that helped businesses stay afloat.

“It’s unique in that we carefully select the articles from around the world for the site.”

E-commerce

Webmedia South Pacific expects more businesses to turn to e-commerce as a result of change in dynamics of doing business, Mr Powell said.

More businesses are seeking online presence in one form or the other, he said.

The website addresses three key issues – coronavirus, panic and the economy, Mr Powell said

“The website fully arms individuals with information about coronavirus to help our viewers prepare better and avoid panic.”

Webpacific South Pacific is based in Toorak and has designed 850 websites, Mr Powell said.
