Lautoka players monitored
Lautoka Rugby Union is monitoring performance via video footage.
Assistant secretary Sefanaia Scholte said the footage are being sent by players during training sessions.
“Our players are doing their training individually,”he said. “Our head coach has devised a training programme for each player so they have to do their training and update the coach via video. “Currently we have about 40 to 60 players and all of them have been sending videos to the coaching staff. Each day the programme is different but they have to submit their players report to the coaches.”
“It is a big breakthrough for these players and at the same time it is testing their honesty towards the team.”
“So it is hard and rewarding at the same time.”
Scholte said players affected by Covid-19 were also being assisted.
“An anonymous donor from New Zealand came on board to assist the Lautoka Rugby in distributing food to affected players.
