Medical supplies arrive from China
The first batch of new medical supplies worth around $270,000 were yesterday handed to the Government by Chinese Ambassador Qian Bo.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete (pictured right) was on hand to receive the supplies at the Suva Civic Centre from Ambassador Qian Bo (pictured left). The supplies are the first of many more to come.
The supplies include 1000 pieces of disposable protective clothing, 1000 medical goggles, 100 infrared thermometers, 1000 N95 masks, 500 pairs of disposable gloves and 500 pairs of shoe covers.
“I am pleased to announce that other batches of medical supplies donated by the Chinese people from all walks of life will be arriving very soon,” Mr Bo said.
