PM Takes Relief to Lau

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimaram­a arrived in Ono-ILau yesterday morning to visit those who had been affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold.

Mr Bainimaram­a left on Monday on a navy ship, Kacau, on his tour of the Lau Group.

He also held a talanoa session

with the people of Ono.

Forty-one houses in the four villages in Ono-I-Lau were destroyed by TC Harold.

Next stop is Vatoa followed by Matuku, Moala and then Totoya. The National Disaster Management Office left a day earlier for the Lau Group loaded with relief supplies provided by Australia and New Zealand

Mr Bainimaram­a will also be holding talanoa sessions on these island to see how he can provide assistance in other areas apart from the damages done during TC Harold.
