A heavy rain alert re­mains in force for the Ya­sawa and Ma­manuca Group, Viti Levu, Ka­davu and nearby smaller is­lands and the South­ern Lau Group.

This is af­ter a warn­ing was is­sued by the Na­tional Weather Fore­cast­ing Cen­tre in Nadi yes­ter­day.

“A sit­u­a­tion of a weak trough of low pres­sure lies slow mov­ing over the group,” said a state­ment from the of­fice.

A flash flood alert also re­mains in force for low ly­ing areas and areas ad­ja­cent to small streams along Nabou­tini, Navua from Tale­naua, Galoa to Pa­cific Har­bour,

Veis­ari, Lami, and Suva to Nau­sori. Mean­while, an­other trough of low pres­sure lies to the west of the coun­try and is ex­pected to move east and af­fect the Fiji Group, the state­ment said.
