SLACK CONTRACTOR

-

A contractor who was given a tender for a Government job thought he could pull a fast one over Local Government Minister Premila Kumar. The good minister had rejected some work done because she knew it was not done according to the approved plan.

The contractor thought he could get away with it by sending an invoice marked as payment for ‘variance’ work. When this came to the notice of the minister, she was quick to point out that this was not a ‘variance’ but in fact faulty work done and no additional payment would be made and that the contractor was legally obligated to fix his mess. That was enough to get the work done in the proper manner. Never underestimate a woman who knows her stuff.
