TWO ON CURFEW BREACH, ASSAULT AND DRUG CHARGES BAILED

Two 21-year-old men facing breach of curfew, serious assault and drug charges were granted bail by the Ba Magistrate­s Court on Wednesday.

Viliame Nabola of Nanoko, Ba, and Josaia Moce of Vatulaulau, Ba appeared before Magistrate Samuela Qica.

They were each charged with one count of failure to comply with lawful order, one count of serious assault and two accounts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs. Magistrate Qica granted bail for the accused persons on the condition that each paid a bail bond of $500, provide one surety each and report to the Ba Police Station on two Fridays of each month. The case had been adjourned to July 28 for mention.

Tuesday sitting

OnTuesday, eight men fronted the Lautoka Magistrate­s Court for the same charges.

Timoci Seniqasa, Manoa Koresi and Isaac Noa Robinson appeared before Magistrate Nayani Kasturirat­ne while Lepani Yavala, Valami Nadau, Jeremaia Savatini, Paras Ram and Senivalati Vakalala appeared before Magistrate Sekonaia Vodokisolo­mone.

Seniqasa, Koresi and Robinson were granted bail on the conditions that each pay a bail bond of $500, provide one surety each, not to reoffend and follow a curfew between 8pm to 5am daily.

Yavala, Nadau, Savatini, Ram and Vakalala were granted bail on the condition that each of the men pay a bail bond of $300, report to the Lautoka Police Station every Wednesday between 7am to 7pm and follow a curfew from 8pm to 5am daily.

Seniqasa, Koresi and Robinson are to appear in court on August 17 while Yavala, Nadau, Savatini, Ram and Vakalala are to appear in court again on July 23.
