Newborn gift for Mother’s Day

... Samantha Kalakai, 28, was given an extra reason to celebrate Mother’s Day after giving birth to her baby girl Jemimah. Jemimah is her second child.

“I am very happy that now I have two little angels. For this Sunday, I just want everyone to be together with their families,” Ms Kalakai said.

She has also lodged an application for Government assistance given to mothers. Government’s $1000 Parenthood Assistance Payment was passed in the 2018-2019 National Budget to help low-income families cover the costs of having and raising a newborn child.
