Extended school holidays

Like all other countries world-wide, it would be very interesting to find out if our Ministry of Education has taken the opportunity to rightfully encourage much reading by most students, especially, in our primary and secondary schools.
Reading improves written and spoken English dramatically. It also improves spelling in leaps and bounds.
An hour each morning and evening will enormously help to develop a reading habit that could fill in the many hours available. Computer games etc etc do not score marks in all examinations.
Just a food for thought, rather belatedly.
