JUDGE TELLS LAWYER TO APPLY FOR BAIL ON NEXT COURT DATE

A drug accused’s lawyer was ordered by the court to make an oral bail submission for his client in the next court date.

Defence lawyer Wasu Pillay appeared yesterday on behalf of his client Justin Ho before Judge Justice Chamath Morais at the Lautoka High Court.

Ho and co-accused Frederick

Epeli are charged with one count each of unlawful importatio­n and exportatio­n and unlawful possession, manufactur­e, cultivatio­n and supply of illicit drugs. The two were alleged to have facilitate­d the export of two kilograms of cocaine and illicit drugs on December 23, 2018. Justice Morais adjourned the case to May 18 for mention. SALOTE QALUBAU
