Improve football together, says Serritslev
Vodafone Fijian football coach, Flemming Serritslev conducted his first workshop in Suva yesterday.
The workshop was for senior and youth coaches in the south eastern district.
“It is a very good experience to be together with the coaches in the South,” he said.
“The main thing is how we can improve Fiji Football together.
“It’s about playing style that suits Fiji football, especially bringing more speed in the local league so we can come closer to international level.”
Serritslev said it was a great meeting with the coaches.
“We had a good discussion in the morning and also in the afternoon.
“It is the first time to meet some of them, I have only spoken to a few before.
“But I have been out watching matches in the Vodafone Premier League.”
Navua head coach Sailosi Danford says the training was important in preparing district players for the national side.
“I find it useful. We have a new national coach and he is trying to find out what he needs from other district coaches in preparing players for the national team,” he said. “It is a good pathway for us to build on before the players go on to the national team, so that it makes his work easier.
“Different coaches have different philosophy and it is very interesting to know what is his vision and mission for Fiji football.”
Strict measures were followed at the workshop, including temperature screening.
The 14 participants were also handed face masks.
