ALautoka man who was worried about his two daughters who disappeared on Thursday says he believes “witchcraft” led them astray.

Shailendra Roheet, 44, and his wife, Anita Devi, 45, were selling pineapples on Thursday in front of the Superfoods Supermarket at Saweni when they told their two daughters, Sital Savita Devi, 14, and Simal Shamika Devi, 12, to go home. He said when their daughters left them, they didn’t go straight home.

I was worried about them. This is the first time this is happening.

“I was worried about them. This is the first time this is happening,” said Mr Roheet.

“I reached home at 6.40pm and they weren’t home, I believe it is something concerning witchcraft.”

Mr Roheet said he immediately notified the Police of their disappearance. However, he was grateful that a businessman found them walking along the Sabeto stretch on Friday.

“They said ‘We don’t know where we were going’,” he said.

“The only thing that matters now is that they are home and we are happy.” No details could be obtained of where the girls were, from the time they had left their parents on Thursday until they were found on Friday.
