Job well done Kaushal Kumar, Nadawa

I was glad to see Shalveen Chand’s story Fiji Sun (10/05) on the stop order being issued to three high-rise structures in Suva, especially the steel building in Flagstaff. Now they cannot start construction again until they provide proof of compliance with the National Building Code.

I say job well done to the Suva City Council and Government for ensuring our safety.

Lockdown Pranil Ram, Nadi

How Confident?

Locking down may be easy, but lifting the lockdown may be as difficult as solving a puzzle.

I believe the common denominator is how confident the authorities feel about public transport, social distancing and personal hygiene.

Cure for Racial Profiling Pranil Ram, Nadi

So yet again, this friendly reminder is seen and heard on community broadcasts. I decided to research a bit and the interesting definition I found was, “Racial profiling is the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offence”.

So yet again we deal with trust issues. We seem to no longer trust our fellowmen. Needless to say, the Barter for Better Fiji page is doing wonders in transforming our community. When money no longer becomes an issue, trust and camaraderie seem to abound and racial profiling becomes a thing of the past.

God bless Fiji!
