We’re winning but virus battle goes on, says PM Morrison

Canberra: Australia is winning the battle against coronavirus but has not yet won, the Prime Minister has declared.

“That virus is still out there,” Scott Morrison said yesterday.

“That virus still has the great potential to do enormous harm to the livelihoods of Australians and the lives of Australians and we need to continue to fight that battle.”

Parliament sat yesterday for three days, with the treasurer to provide an economic update, instead of the previously scheduled federal budget which has been pushed back to October.

The government says the economy could grow by AU$9.4 billion each month once all states have reached the third stage of reopening.
