$6.1 million for COVID-19 top-up

- Fiji National Provident Fund chief executive officer Jaoji Koroi. Edited by Naisa Koroi Feedback: fonua.talei@fijisun.com.fj

The Fijian Government has made available $6.1 million so far for Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) COVID-19 withdrawal top-ups.

Members who do not have sufficient balance in their ‘General Account’ are topped up by Government to the maximum withdrawal amount.

The member must also already have a positive ‘General Account’ balance.

FNPF chief executive officer Jaoji Koroi said Government top-ups were processed through a different system and would take a maximum of two days for pay-out to be made.

“Government gives us the money and that money is with our ANZ account,” Mr Koroi said.

“They (applicants) will not get it in one form of payment, it’s in two payments. One from FNPF, and one for the top-up amount.”

He is advising members who have yet to receive the Government topup to visit their various FNPF offices and enquire about their applications.

Mr Koroi also said the fund has paid out about 90 per cent of applications that have come through, so far.
