The Prime Minister Bainimarama’s announcement to extend the nationwide restrictions and curfew is a wise one, despite the fact that the extended period of lockdown has economic costs. Saving lives must always be a priority.

I am based here in Am Samoa and wow that article by Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto is the best I have come across.

Reflecting on the COVID-19 issues around us, such articles not only gives us hope that no matter what may come we humans will endure it but it also strengthen our belief that miracles do happen. Vinaka vakalevu to Fiji Sun for having the insight to share such miracles at the time when we need it most.

The Secretary to Parliament must be commended for prudence in unveiling the discrepancies in claims submitted by some of our MPs from both sides.

It would be interesting to learn the names of those culprits as these are public funds and should never be abused by any Member of Parliament irrespective of whether you are from the FijiFirst government side or from the SODELPA and NFP opposition sides. There is no other way to justify the wrong as they all hold public office and are subject to public scrutiny at all times.

They should be setting standards as leaders and I, personally believe they should all be fired from Parliament if found guilty.

There is no other way.

Packed Sardines Jioji O Toronibau , Tunuloa

I had witnessed a bus packed with people and myself like sardines on what I supposedly to be a joyful Saturday bus ride to the village. To my horror all passengers from Nabouwalu, Wailevu Tunuloa and Napuka passengers going into one Vishnu bus. The idea is for Nabouwalu passengers to disembark at Naibalebale and Wailevu Tunuloa at Savusavu before its onward journey to Napuka.

It is unhyginic and not safe.

The idea here is to economise but people are the victims of the management’s strategic plan. I plead with authorities to check this out please.
