$78K for work place survey

The Fijian Government through the Ministry of Employment, Productivi­ty and Industrial Relations and the Internatio­nal Labour Organisati­on(ILO) signed over a grant of US$35,000 (FJ$78,819) to assist in the rolling-out of a nationwide survey on the effect of coronaviru­s in Fiji’s workplaces. The agreement was signed between the director of the

ILO office for Pacific Island Countries, Matin Karimli, and the Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivi­ty and Industrial Relations, Osea Cawaru.

Mr Cawaru said the survey will assist Government develop necessary policies to respond to the pandemic and will also help ILO develop employment-related programmes for its tripartite partners in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The signing was witnessed by the Minister for Employment, Productivi­ty and Industrial Relations, Youth Parveen Bala.
