$78K for work place survey
The Fijian Government through the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and the International Labour Organisation(ILO) signed over a grant of US$35,000 (FJ$78,819) to assist in the rolling-out of a nationwide survey on the effect of coronavirus in Fiji’s workplaces. The agreement was signed between the director of the
ILO office for Pacific Island Countries, Matin Karimli, and the Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Osea Cawaru.
Mr Cawaru said the survey will assist Government develop necessary policies to respond to the pandemic and will also help ILO develop employment-related programmes for its tripartite partners in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The signing was witnessed by the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Youth Parveen Bala.
