Rothnie-Jones, in an interview said Savusavu offers a delightful break in a spectacular setting, and the hospitality and friendliness of the people are as strong as ever.
While some properties in
Savusavu are closed, six properties have opted to offer local packages at affordable prices.
“We have very friendly people which means when you come, you really meet a lot of people and will be greeted very warmly,” Ms
Rothnie-Jones said.
“We offer all the best of Fiji. We really do have a vast array of beautiful scenery and things to do.
“Now more than ever it’s a special place to come and find peace and relaxation away from all the worries, and there are a range of fantastic offers for locals
“Savusavu has various unique attractions, some of the snorkelling we have is absolutely world class, a lot of accessible waterfalls, J Hunter Pearl farms, small chocolate factory to name a few places to visit,” Ms Rothnie-Jones said.
“What’s more, now that some travel restrictions have been lifted, all our restaurants in town are open so you can still enjoy a good meal and a drink overlooking the beautiful harbour and Bay.” However, curfew hours still remain from 10pm to 5am daily until further notice.
Transportation
She said it was easy to get to Savusavu by ferry or air. “With four direct flights a week from Viti Levu with Fiji Link and regular services to Labasa with both Fiji Link and Northern Air - Labasa is a beautiful drive over the mountains which many visitors enjoy as part of their stay,” she said.

Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL) offers three weekly trips to Savusavu from Suva on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at a fare price of $49 one way.
The Monday and Friday service also includes a trip to Taveuni from Savusavu.
She said like tourism all over the world, the closing of borders has had a severe impact on their international tourism business and some resorts and properties are closed.
“However, others have stayed open.
“A number of our activity providers are still welcoming visitors,” Ms Rothnie-Jones said.
