University of the South Pacific student Fredrick Osifelo, 25, starts and ends his day with a cup of tea every day. Mr Osifelo from Malaita in the Solomon Islands was at the NEWWORLD IGA Supermarke­t, Damodar City, Raiwai yesterday to buy his 50 bags pack of Lipton tea. He lives on campus.

“This is the only brand of tea we have in the Solomons, I am lucky that this supermarke­t sells it,” Mr Osifelo said.

“I have a cup of Lipton to start my day and I have another before I go to bed,” he said.

“I buy Lipton tea bags because it is convenient to me. It also brings home closer every time I sip a cup of Lipton tea.

“USP is just close by and this supermarke­t is convenient to us students.”

Mr Osifelo is a first year student pursuing his degree in management and statistics.

“Fiji is far developed than the Solomons, the place is bigger. I have not been homesick because there is always someone to help,” he said.

“I have even met up with a relative whose family has settled in Suva. He was part of the Fiji-Malaita rugby team that came over last year.

“We met at Tappoo City, he called me and I was happy to meet him.”

Mr Osifelo plays prop in rugby.
