Savusavu’s Daku Resort says Viti Levu residents can now get a long weekend “overseas”. This is with the launch today of a Fiji Link Friday afternoon flight from Suva’s Nausori Airport up across the Koro Sea to Savusavu.

“Which will make it easy for Viti Levu residents to come for a long weekend,” said Daku Resort manager Aubrey Whippy. Daku Resort has all the pleasures of a traditional bay-side resort without the prices of a five star resort.

It’s that combination of comfortable accommodation, good food, great setting and fabulous staff that has made them one of the best resorts in Savusavu.

Mr Whippy said they have started to promote to the local market with special rates.

Mr Whippy said:

“The key areas within the domestic market are Labasa, Suva and Nadi.”

He said with the lifting of travel restrictions there was now a wide availability of flights and ferries.

“Fiji Link is flying into Savusavu four times a week - from this Friday they are introducing a Friday afternoon flight from

Suva.”

Air travel

“Both Fiji Link and Northern Air are flying into Labasa and of course from there it’s a beautiful 90 minute drive over the mountains to Savusavu.” He added there are also regular ferries from Suva and Natovi.

Boat transfer

Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL) offers three weekly trips to Savusavu from Suva on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at a fare price of $49 one way.

The Monday and Friday voyages also includes a trip to Taveuni from Savusavu.
