K9E Brothers Expand Services to Suva City
The K9E Brothers who took the Barter for Better Fiji Facebook page by storm have expanded their services to Suva. The group of six men from the Western part of Viti Levu were spotted yesterday cleaning and painting the home of Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar.
The group is in Suva by popular demand following a series of successful work in the Western Division.
Their mission is to provide for their families since they have either been laid off or sent on unpaid leave by their employers.
Team leader Adriu Naisoroki said as of yesterday, they had provided services to more than 10 households in Suva. Mr Naisoroki said the response from the public was overwhelming.
“We still have a lot of families in our list to attend to and we have been trying to organise ourselves well while we are travelling around,” he said.
“We cleaned and painted the house of Education Minister Rosy Akbar and in exchange of that she gave us a brand new chainsaw, for that we are so grateful.
“We have a multi-talented team, two had worked in the tourism sector, a carpenter and three from the Fiji Sugar Corporation including myself.
“We have provided maintenance, cleared compounds, painted homes and we have been overwhelmed with the amount of things we have been gifted in exchange for our services.”
He said they had been receiving groceries worth more than their services.
“Today (yesterday) we return to the West to our families and they are eagerly waiting for all that we will bring back with us.”
Mr Naisoroki said transportation was a challenge .
“When we left Lautoka, a man that we had provided our services to offered his vehicle to be transporting us around Suva and that is what we have for now.
“We would be grateful if people would help us in this regard so it can be easy for us to deliver our services.”
