Officers on Track Finding Exercise Visit Rural Areas

- Police offficers were welcomed in homes and offered drinks.

Over the past 48 hours Police officers have been engaged in cross country track finding exercise with the aim of visiting remote communities, many of whom are Fiji’s hard working farmers.

From the Police Special Response Unit’s (PSRU) sevenhour trek from Wainimakutu in Namosi to Wainimala in Naitasiri to the cross country exercise conducted yesterday in the Western Division, one thing is for sure, Fiji’s “Veilomani” spirit shines bright wherever Police officers find themselves.

Whether it be in the rugged terrains of the Namosi and Naitasiri hills to the rolling sugarcane farms in the Western Division, farmers warmly welcomed Police officers with a cold beverage or in the case of the PSRU team, a warm meal.

It’s the hospitality Fiji is known for that makes Policing rewarding and uplifting despite the risks and challenges they face on a regular basis.
