Tourism Fiji hosted its sixth webinar session in Nadi that featured the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) and representatives from the Ministry of Employment Productivity and Industrial Relations.

The session allowed industry partners an opportunity to ask questions regarding their current human resources issues with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Tourism Fiji director of marketing, Emma Campbell, said: “Tourism Fiji is happy that we’ve been able to create a platform that allows useful information to get our industry in this challenging time.

“We welcomed 150 attendees at today’s webinar and there were many new faces that have not joined us before.

“This tells us that the topic was relevant to a broader scope of people in our industry.”

Earlier last week, FHTA hosted five faceto-face information sessions with their members and invited the Ministry of Employment to attend and answer questions. FHTA chief executive officer Fantasha Lockington, said, “I’m glad they now have a better understanding about the tough time our tourism industry is having now.

“It is an emotional time for many members. “I wanted the ministry to meet with them and hear their challenges and how they have been responding first hand.”
