Working as a family has paid off for a father and his son, after they opened their third restaurant in Nadi last week.

This has been a milestone for Nana’s Indian Cuisine having their recent eatery outlet opened at Sagayam Road in downtown Nadi on Thursday.

A decade ago

The father and son team invested $14,000 on the restaurant.

Director Sham Naidu said their business began a decade ago, when they started with an eatery along Nadi’s Market Road.

The duo went on to launch a food catering services.

“I believe getting this outlet opened now is the right time where all businesses are feeling the pinch, and continue to close down.

“This is a good opportunity for our 12 staff members to be employed during this time of the pandemic.

Employed

“None of our staff has been laid off since the restriction was put in place. “We operated at the Market Road 10 years ago and then we opened one at Westfield in March last year, and one at the Nadi Sports and Social club in

August, 2019.

“We cater for weddings and special events as well.”

Confidence

Mr Naidu is a chef with 20 years’ experience.

Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Dr Ram Raju officiated at the soft opening.

“During the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is closing down.

“Despite the gloom he has the confidence and has his heart in Nadi in particular investing as well,” he said.

“It is great to see that you still continue with all the other arms of your business.

“The tourism industry is the largest foreign exchange earner and earnings have surpassed the $1 billion mark,” he said.
