Pochettino linked to Newcastle move

-

London :Ossie Ardiles claims there is a “firm possibility” Mauricio Pochettino will take charge of Newcastle.

But Tottenham legend Ardiles says close friend Pochettino will also listen to other offers to return to management.

Ardiles says his fellow Argentinian received an offer from the consortium trying to take over at St James’ Park while he was still on gardening leave following his November sacking by Spurs.

But that six-month penalty clause expired last Tuesday and Ardiles told Argentinian website Infobae: “He is linked with Newcastle United.

“When he spoke directly to that club there were many first-rate people involved who made him a good offer and he had a contractual relationship with Tottenham. “Last Tuesday his situation was unlocked and he is free to coach.

“Because of this, he is going to listen to offers again, but Newcastle is a firm possibility for returning to management. “He will take his time to think and to wait for everything to unfold.”

Pochettino has been linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and other big clubs since being axed by Spurs.

Ardiles, who lives near Pochettino in north London, said: “He is one of the top three coaches in the world.

“He can manage wherever he wants. Here, or in Spain, in France or Italy.

“But he really likes managing in England. him - and one of them is going to be the chosen one.”The
