Looking for a weekend getaway at the Mamanuca Group? Well you are are in luck. You can book a day trip on the Coral Cats catamaran based at Port Denarau Marina and enjoy snorkelling and an island barbeque.

Coral Cats managing director, Courtney Rhodes, who has been running the business with husband Andrew for eight years now, said the day trips are available on weekends Saturday andSunday. The catamaran, Wanaka, which can take up to 25 people, departs for the Mamanuca Group with stops at a sandbank along with two snorkelling trips and a barbeque

lunch at Musket Cove on Malolo Lailai Island.

“We have one snorkelling trip before lunch and one after lunch.” The trip takes up three quarters of a normal one day trip and costs $125 for adults and $50 for children as opposed to the normal charges of $230 for one person. Mrs Rhodes said Wanaka also does sunset cruises on Fridays and Saturdays and charges are $75 for adults and $50 for children. “We also have two other vessels, a catamaran, Miss Minnie which can take six people and a speed boat, Zig Zag which can carry 10 passengers.

“These two boats are for charters.”

Mrs Rhodes said they used to run daily trips on the Wanaka prior to COVID-19.
