BLK Nadroga Rugby Union head coach Esala Nauga told his son to accept whatever offer that came his way.

The 22-year-old Alivereti Duguivalu Nauga did just that as he signed a two-year contract with Perpignan Rugby to play in the French ProD2 competition.

“My son Alivereti waited anxiously for any offer to come his way,” Nauga told SUNsports yesterday.

“It was a tough one to decide. I had advised him to accept the first offer that came to him.”

The former Flying Fijians second five eight said he was proud of his son’s achievement.

“He has been part of that pathway for three years and after he has signed up with a club.

“He moved to France to secure a professional rugby contract and he has achieved that.

“We have been talking but the delay was due to the lockdown.” Nauga said his son was a member of the Nadroga Under-20 squad and was trained by former Flying Fijians lock Kele Leawere, who is now the Vodafone Fijian U20 head coach.

Alivereti also played sevens rugby and led the Tuva U20 side to beat the Kings 7s Select 7-0 to hoist the Coral Coast U20 7s title.
