If you ever want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the busy Suva area, Colo-I-Suva Rainforest Eco Resort would make the ideal choice.

With 22 rooms spread across the resort, guests can expect a peaceful stay.

Located along Princes Road, ColoI-Suva Rainforest Eco Resort offers guests bird watching services - and an opportunit­y to be one with nature with its lake view restaurant.

Raintree restaurant and bar

The restaurant area has been a thriving part of the ecotourism resort.

Director Brian Riches said the restaurant offers affordable basic comfort food like fish and chips and burgers.

“During the week, the restaurant is open from 11am – 2pm and 5pm – 8pm while on the weekends, it opens from 11 – 8pm while the bar area is open all day every day.

“We’ve got the best burger in town, and a lot of guests say that as well,” he said

“We also focus on Fijian on our blackboard daily special where you order and you get a variety of local dishes in a plate called ‘Tasty Fiji’ which costs $28.

“On the weekends we make our popular Kokoda,” he said.

Happy hour prices apply all day

Sundays.

The restaurant uses freshly caught magimagi for its fish and chips menu.

Mr Richaes said guests who visit the restaurant get a different experience as they can watch the birds and the forest while enjoying a meal.

The restaurant also makes fish burgers, chicken burgers and veggie burgers for vegetarian­s.

Colo-I-Suva Rainforest Eco Resort has 12 different room types.

There’s the budget rooms, studio rooms and the bures.
