Govt unveils $130m boost to research and innovation
Wellington: The government has unveiled NZ$130 million (FJ$184m) of new spending to boost research and innovation by Crown bodies. The money is part of a NZ$400m (FJ$568m) package, most of which was announced in the budget.
The overall package includes funding for the government’s loan scheme designed to encourage businesses to invest in innovation; and NZ$33m (FJ$46.6m) for Maori research and development opportunities.
