The FIJI Water Foundation yesterday donated supplies valued at $20,000, to support the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in their efforts to battle COVID-19 in the country.

The donation included high visibility rain coats, examination couches, portable medical screens, warm blankets, umbrellas, and gumboots.

The minister, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete, while receiving the donation, said the supplies would make a big difference to the healthcare professionals working on the frontlines in Fiji’s bid to become virus free.

“This donation will enable us to keep up with our fight, not letting our guards down as we continue our work into the most remotest parts of the country,” Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said.

FIJI Water Foundation manager Marie Smith said as the rainy season approaches, supplies such as gumboots and umbrellas would help make life for healthcare workers more bearable, in the rural areas.

“These supplies were urgently requested by the ministry, and we are glad we could help source them to assist their efforts in successfully eliminating the virus in Fiji,” Ms Smith said.
