Dream Street singer Chris Trousdale is dead of coronavirus at age 34. Family told TMZ that Trousdale died Tuesday night at a hospital in Burbank, California, of complications from COVID-19. Additional details were not disclosed. “He was a light to so many and will be missed dearly by his family, friends and fans all over the world,” a statement post on Trousdale’s official Twitter account said.

“Although it felt like he belonged to us all, the family is requesting that privacy be respected during this difficult time.” Trousdale was best known as a member of the boy band Dream Street with Jesse McCartney, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger and Frankie Galasso.

Trousdale joined the group in 1999 when he was 14 years old; they split in 2002 after two albums, including the pop hit “It Happens Every Time,” due to a legal dispute between the singers’ parents and managers.

“It pains me to say that an old friend, Chris Trousdale, from my early days in the music industry has passed away due to complications from COVID-19,” McCartney wrote on Instagram.

“Chris had an explosively charming personality with boundless amounts of talent. Together we made up two of the five members of a boyband called DreamStreet. We were young kids with budding talent who shared an overwhelming love for music and performing.” Trousdale continued as a solo singer, appearing on Disney songs like Play’s “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” and Nikki Cleary’s cover of “You’re the One That Want,” and unsuccessfully auditioning for “The Voice” in 2012. He most recently released the song “Summer” in 2019.

According to ET, Trousdale also worked as an actor, appearing on “Days of Our Lives,” “Shake It Up,” “Austin & Ally” and the upcoming movie “New York Christmas Wedding.” Before Dream Street, he was a child star on Broadway.
