The Veilomani Food Bank initiative was a noble move, especially at a time when many of our brothers and sisters are struggling. The donors who have come forward and are still donating, are noble as well.
Now can the Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission (FCCC) please hand this work over to someone else and focus on their core business please? Groceries are getting more expensive silently and those very people targeted by noble initiatives, are the people bearing the brunt of price hikes, silently. We get it, commission, you did a marvellous job from the launch of the initiative to collection and distribution. Give that job to the Red Cross now. It’s a disaster, remember! The bigger disaster is the absence of meaningful price control.
