Barter for Better Fiji inspires page created especially for the giving

AFacebook page, inspired by Barter for Better Fiji, has been created for strangers who share a common goal – giving. For those who wish to give and expect nothing in return, Veilomani & Duavata Fiji is the page for you.

Its brainchild, Rowina Snow of Ra was inspired to start the page following a heartwarming exchange on Barter for Better Fiji.

Ms Snow requested for baby items for a church member who was domesticated, young and had just had a baby.

Within a day, three people rose to the call and donated baby stuff for the mother.

Ms Snow, a sales executive of Telecom Fiji said she was doing this not for self-glorification but to encourage others to share what they have so that those in need have something to survive.

“Jeremiah’s mother goes to Universal Church of the Kingdom of God with me but I don’t know her personally,” Ms Snow said.

“Also I don’t know Pranushka Ram and the two Kioan ladies personally who contacted me through

Barter for Better Fiji Facebook page to lend a helping help to Jeremiah.” The 38-year-old mother said she assisted them by providing transport to baby Jeremiah’s house. Meanwhile, Ms Ram of Nasinu said she had always reached out to children’s home and helping Jeremiah was a blessing.

Being a mother of two children (two-year-old girl and nine month old baby boy) and currently unemployed, she asked nothing in return from Ms Snow but just blessings for her children when handing over things to Jeremiah.

“Love has no language, no limits and no barrier,” Ms Ram said. “Holding Jeremiah in my arms made me feel over the moon.”

The 32-year-old chef by profession who holds a Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery and Certificate in Fundamental Caregiving and former staff of Fiji National University hopes to join a NonGovernment Organisation that involves children.

Love has no language, no limits and no barrier. Holding Jeremiah in my arms made me feel over the moon.
