Psychiatri­c assessment ordered

A Nadi man who breached the COVID-19 curfew order was advised by the court to undergo a psychiatri­c assessment. Mitchell Henry Brown of Nadi was remanded in custody on Wednesday by the Nadi Magistrate­s Court.

Brown is charged with failure to comply with curfew orders. Magistrate Nilmini Fernandez adjourned the case to June 23 for mention.

In a separate appearance, Ilaisa Nabou and Havey Kennedy both of Votualevu, Nadi, appeared before Magistrate Peni Dalituicam­a.

Nabou and Kennedy were both granted bail on the conditions that they each pay a bail bond of $500, won’t relocate and follow a curfew from 6am to 6pm.

The case has been adjourned to June 18 for mention.

In Ba, Kevueli Koroi was further remanded by the Ba Magistrate­s Court for breaching his bail conditions for a separate matter and failure to comply with curfew orders.

Police prosecutio­n objected to bail due to his pending case. Magistrate Samuela Qica adjourned the matter to June 24 for mention.
