Psychiatric assessment ordered
A Nadi man who breached the COVID-19 curfew order was advised by the court to undergo a psychiatric assessment. Mitchell Henry Brown of Nadi was remanded in custody on Wednesday by the Nadi Magistrates Court.
Brown is charged with failure to comply with curfew orders. Magistrate Nilmini Fernandez adjourned the case to June 23 for mention.
In a separate appearance, Ilaisa Nabou and Havey Kennedy both of Votualevu, Nadi, appeared before Magistrate Peni Dalituicama.
Nabou and Kennedy were both granted bail on the conditions that they each pay a bail bond of $500, won’t relocate and follow a curfew from 6am to 6pm.
The case has been adjourned to June 18 for mention.
In Ba, Kevueli Koroi was further remanded by the Ba Magistrates Court for breaching his bail conditions for a separate matter and failure to comply with curfew orders.
Police prosecution objected to bail due to his pending case. Magistrate Samuela Qica adjourned the matter to June 24 for mention.
