WEBINAR SERIES BOLSTERS LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY COVID-19

- FREDERICA ELBOURNE

Over 100 businesses in Fiji and across small island Pacific states joined yesterday’s launch of a free six part webinar series, aimed at helping businesses impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes said local Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can now access feefree business coaching services through the webinars.

The launch of the new webinar series provides a new platform for MSMEs to gain insights, inspiration and the latest advice to navigate the way forward through the current crisis, he said.

Follow-up support will also be available for local businesses who need one-to-one counselling and coaching, Mr Feakes said.

International Labour Organisation director Matin Karimli said the webinar was the correct one to date, given the crisis of a lifetime that the coronavirus pandemic brought with it. MSMEs and some large organisations such as Fiji Airways and Rosie Tours joined the business coaching webinar via Zoom, the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation said.
