RIYAZ RUBBISHES CLAIMS

- ILAIJIA RAVUWAI

Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) has rejected claims that they are working with an administrator of a Facebook page which is known for inciting racial disharmony.

Yesterday, chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said a man who claims to be an administrator of the Fiji Exposed Forum had requested money to do positive publicity for them.

The man, in a signed statutory declaration, claimed he was paid $12,000 by one opposition political party to spread negativity about Government in the lead up to the 2018 General Election. Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the man was told to back his claims with evidence.

To assist him in this, he was provided with equipment to gather recordings and videos.

The administrators for the Fiji Exposed Forum also run the Samachar Darshan, Democracy! Truly Fijians, the Fiji Exposed Forum – HACKX FIJI, Fiji Exposed Forum 2 and the Fiji Freedom Fighters. Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the man made serious allegations against the two opposition parties.

The man claimed that some prominent members of one of the two political parties were active administrators of the forum. Both opposition parties deny any involvement with the man who claims to be a Fiji Exposed Forum Administrator.
