Isoof is charged with five counts of murder and one count of attempted murder of a family of five at the Nausori Highlands in Nadi on August 26 last year.

His case was called before the Fiji Court of Appeal’s Justice Chandana Prematilaka yesterday.

Isoof is currently remanded in custody at the Natabua Remand Centre and did not appear yesterday. He is charged for the alleged murder of Nirmal Kumar, 63, Usha Devi, 54, Nileshni Kajal, 34, Sanah Singh, 11, and Samarah Singh, 8. He is also charged for an alleged attempted murder of 11 month-old toddler Samaira Kumar.

Justice Prematilaka said both parties had filed their submissions and the matter was set to go before the full bench (panel of judges). He said he would give directions to the registry to call the matter when the full bench sat at the Appeals Court.
