Illi­nois At­tor­ney-Gen­eral test pos­i­tive for COVID-19

Wash­ing­ton: U.S. of­fi­cials have called for stricter im­ple­men­ta­tion of COVID-19 con­trol mea­sures af­ter some tested pos­i­tive for the virus, amid a rise of cases in the United States. On Tues­day, Illi­nois At­tor­ney-Gen­eral Kwame Raoul an­nounced he had tested pos­i­tive for COVID-19.

“My symp­toms con­tinue to be mild, and I am in reg­u­lar con­tact with my staff in order to con­tinue to man­age the op­er­a­tions of my of­fice,” Mr Raoul said in a state­ment.

The A-G has been in self-quar­an­tine since he be­gan ex­pe­ri­enc­ing mi­nor symp­toms, lo­cal me­dia re­ported.

Mr Raoul’s of­fice is in the process of no­ti­fy­ing peo­ple who may have come into con­tact with him.
