BACKGROUND OF POOL PROJECT

■ Around August 2015, the Lautoka City Council decided to carry out a swimming pool project at Lautoka Botanical Garden site with an anticipated completion date of March 18, 2019.

■ The initial project was for two swimming pools, one competition pool of FINA compliance 50 metre x 8 lanes and a community pool of 25 metres x 6 lanes and associated facilities. The estimated cost for the whole project was originally $2m.
